| COURSE
PROGRAMME |
| Theoretical
aspects include:
Getting
to know and to use tools and materials
Timber identification
Glues, waxes, shellac and their uses
Stripping coatings
Colouring with pigments and stains
Practical exercises will include:
Wood
surface preparation: stripping and filling.
Variety of colouring techniques: spirit stains and pigments
French polishing with the use of shellac
Wax polishing
Students
are welcome to bring a small wooden object for restoration. Please
contact the school for details before the course starts.
All
projects completed during the course remain the property of the
student.
